No regrets....walking through a favela came across graffiti - it sums up the feeling right now! So, whats happened since we left...
After an epic journey consisting of a night in Madrid airport and more waiting than actually moving we eventually arived in Rio! We are staying in a favela for the first 2 nights...stumbling from the bus into the pouring rain and darkness we are greeted by Tito, the lithuanian who owns the house in favela vidigal where we stay for a couple of nights. So its beer, I get called a ´gypsy´because I am already tanned and a traveller - thanks! - and then a ride on the back of his motorbike to our home for the night....

So since then it has been hard work....a visit to Christ the Redeemer statue, a tram to Santa Teresa, Brazilian food, Brahma, Walking down Copacabana and Ipanema beach, ´sampling´the local cocktails - A Caipirinha a day keeps the doctor away!. Also went to a local football game, Flamengo v Coritiba...

Any other amusing snippets to tell? Well there was the night we met a Japanese lad called Shegaike, very nice, but a few too many Caipirinhas´led to me confusing the sound combinations and became convinced he was called `is-she-gay´....yeah i felt like a right tonk the next day...happy to say he didn´t even notice!

Today we leave Rio, heading up the coast to Salvador for more beaches and ´culture´! Currently trying to psych myself up for the 18 hour bus journey that lies ahead....
